These customers join an established base of AI innovators and global brands such as Meta, Cursor, Sony, and Tesla.

We’re on a mission to transform how companies use data. Come be a part of our journey!

ClickHouse is seeking an experienced product counsel to join as an early member of ClickHouse’s elite and business-focused Legal team. You will be responsible for supporting ClickHouse’s product and engineering teams as a trusted legal partner across the full product lifecycle — from early-stage feature development through launch and beyond. As our product legal function grows, you’ll shape how we build responsibly at scale, with particular focus on AI, privacy, and data issues. You will act as a solutions-oriented advisor and business enabler in a rapidly growing company while maintaining high standards for both legal practice and business ethics. You will report to ClickHouse’s Deputy General Counsel, Product and IP.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with product and engineering leadership and act as a pragmatic, solutions-oriented legal advisor.
  • Advise on legal issues arising from new and evolving product features, with a particular focus on AI/ML (including training data, model outputs, IP ownership, and regulatory frameworks), data privacy, intellectual property, and open-source software.
  • Advise on, draft, and review technology licensing and integration partnership agreements with strategic product and ecosystem partners.
  • Advise on open-source licensing strategy and compliance.
  • Draft, review, and maintain product-specific legal terms, policies, and documentation.
  • Support legal integration work arising from acquisitions, including diligence of acquired product IP, policy alignment, and creation of new or modified legal terms for acquired company customers.
  • Advise on trademark and brand protection matters, including monitoring for potential infringement, responding to third-party claims, and counseling on product naming and go-to-market materials.
  • Partner with the Governance, Risk, and Compliance team to build privacy-by-design practices into product development and ensure compliance with global data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, and equivalents) and standards.
  • Partner with the Security and Privacy teams on incident response, advising on notification obligations, regulatory reporting requirements, and customer communications.
  • Monitor and advise on relevant regulatory, compliance, and legal developments impacting the product, including AI, privacy, and export compliance, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate them into actionable guidance.
  • Help develop scalable legal workflows that support rapid product iteration and growth.

What You Bring Along:

  • Law degree and member in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Exceptional academic performance and training, including law degree from a highly ranked law school (e.g., Top 30) and/or experience at a top-tier law firm in the technology space.
  • 4 to 8 years of experience, preferably with a meaningful mix of Big Law and in-house at a technology company.
  • Located in the United States.
  • Currently in a product counsel role, or a role with significant product counsel responsibility (e.g., product/commercial or product/privacy hybrid).
  • Strong command of the core product legal disciplines: AI/ML issues, privacy (GDPR, CCPA), open-source licensing, and IP.
  • Excellent judgment and business orientation — able to translate complex legal risk into practical product advice.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator, comfortable working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-growth environment.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience at a SaaS company, particularly in databases, data infrastructure, or data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience advising on product-related AI regulatory compliance (EU AI Act, state AI legislation) or training data governance.

Legal Tech Counsel at Protect Democracy

Attorneys develop legal strategies and advance litigation on AI law and policy to safeguard democracy, working on impact cases involving emerging technology regulation.

Senior Remote Posted about 9 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Description

Protect Democracy is seeking experienced, highly motivated attorneys to join our team as Counsel, focusing on the legal dimensions of artificial intelligence and advanced technology as they intersect with American democracy. These roles are integral to our scaling of the AI for Democracy Action Lab—Protect Democracy’s multidisciplinary, nonpartisan “action tank” focusing on building tech tools and shaping law and policy to safeguard and strengthen democracy in the AI era. This position is remote based in the US.*

We are hiring for two different tech counsel roles:

  • The senior position is for candidates with at least 10 years of experience as an attorney, ideally bringing expertise in AI and emerging technology law, exceptional legal and analytical skills, entrepreneurial legal instincts, and a demonstrated ability to translate complex technical and legal questions for diverse audiences.

  • The other position is for early to mid-career attorneyseager for opportunities to stretch and grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate brings at least 4 years of experience as an attorney, with some exposure to AI and emerging technology law or related fields (such as national security or First Amendment law), exceptional legal and analytical skills, and entrepreneurial legal instincts.

In both roles, you will develop and advance legal strategies at the frontier of AI law and policy. From idea generation to execution, you will work with a small team driving creative impact litigation and other projects that integrate legal, regulatory, and communications strategies to constrain deployments of AI that are corrosive to our democracy. You will also help build the AI for Democracy Action Lab’s expertise and credibility on the legal questions that will define how AI shapes our democracy.

As a member of this team, you will shape the AI for Democracy Action Lab’s legal advocacy priorities, building upon the team’s strategies to date. Our legal work has included advocacy to push back against the Pentagon’s retaliation against Anthropic for standing by its red lines, litigation challenging the administration’s attempt to chill online trust and safety work, and litigation and advocacy to stop the administration’s unlawful collection and aggregation of Americans’ personal data and deployment of technology for surveillance purposes.

At Protect Democracy, we believe that diversity isn’t just a strength — it’s a necessity for tackling the complex challenges facing democracy. A broad range of backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences strengthen our ability to analyze problems, craft solutions, and drive meaningful change. We strongly encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds and from across the political and ideological spectrum to apply. If you meet most but not all of the criteria listed below but believe nonetheless you’d be a stellar match for the role and could grow into it, we want to hear from you.

In both counsel roles, team members will:

  • Develop and shape integrated advocacy projects to advance the mission of Protect Democracy at the intersection of AI and democracy through the AI for Democracy Action Lab, including by:

    • Bringing creative and high-impact litigation at the intersection of AI and democracy;

    • Helping build Protect Democracy’s expertise and reputation as a thought leader on AI and emerging technology law as it relates to democracy; and

    • Collaborating with the communications team to define and execute on integrated advocacy campaigns that advance the AI for Democracy Action Lab’s goals.

Senior counsel will:

  • Identify, scope, and manage complex, high-stakes integrated advocacy projects to advance the AI for Democracy Action Lab’s goals;

  • Lead and drive the development of innovative legal arguments and potential litigation approaches at the intersection of AI and democracy;

  • Lead the process of researching, drafting, and editing pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal filings in impact litigation;

  • Lead communication with opposing counsel and manage and grow relationships with clients, coalition partners, experts, and government stakeholders in high-stakes litigation and non-litigation settings;

  • Manage discovery processes, including informal fact-finding, document review, witness interviews, written discovery, depositions, and expert discovery;

  • Supervise and mentor paralegals, junior legal staff, and law students;

  • Write, publish, and present to key audiences on legal issues that gain significant traction at the intersection of AI and democratic governance;

  • Brief reporters and provide expert commentary on complex legal questions and developments in AI law and regulation, serving as a public face for projects;

  • Engage with policymakers, regulators, civil society partners, and the tech industry as a credible legal voice for pro-democracy AI governance.

Early to mid-career counsel will:

  • Lead legal and policy projects or workstreams at the intersection of AI and democracy with managerial direction on strategy and pivots;

  • Research, develop, and shape innovative ideas for litigation and policy strategies to advance the AI for Democracy Action Lab’s goals;

  • Research, draft, and edit excellent legal pleadings and external-facing non-litigation products (including legal memos, primers, administrative comments, and op-eds);

  • Participate in and manage discovery processes, including informal fact-finding, document review, witness interviews, written discovery, depositions, and expert discovery;

  • Communicate in settings with significant stakes, including recruiting clients and retaining outside counsel and representing the organization with non-litigation external stakeholders (such as ecosystem or media briefings);

  • Participate in convenings with policymakers, regulators, civil society partners, and the tech industry as a credible legal voice for pro-democracy AI governance.

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings:

  • Relevant legal experience, specifically:

    • For senior counsel, at least 10 years of legal experience (which can include judicial clerkships), with expertise in AI and emerging technology law, exceptional legal and analytical skills, entrepreneurial legal instincts, and a demonstrated ability to translate complex technical and legal questions for diverse audiences;

    • For early to mid-career counsel, at least 4 years of legal experience (which can include judicial clerkships), with some exposure to AI and emerging technology law or related fields (such as national security or First Amendment law), exceptional legal and analytical skills, and entrepreneurial legal instincts.

  • Bar membership in good standing in the jurisdiction of your residence;

  • Experience developing and leading impact litigation or plaintiff-side civil litigation, including managing litigation teams for the senior role;

  • Entrepreneurial legal instincts and an ability to generate impactful, creative ideas that advance the goals of the AI for Democracy Action Lab;

  • Collaborative orientation and willingness to take on tasks big or small as needed to advance our mission;

  • Rigorous attention to detail and the highest standards for excellence in execution;

  • A passionate commitment to the preservation of democratic norms and institutions, and an understanding that our democracy has never fully represented communities of color.

Legal Legal Counsel Podcast Monetization at Spotify

Legal counsel advises Spotify's podcast monetization business on agreements, regulatory compliance, and product guidance for creator partnerships and licensing deals.

Senior Posted 25 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

The Talk & Advertising Platform Legal Group supports Spotify’s podcast business unit. As a lawyer within the group, you will partner with and provide guidance to our podcast and creator teams and support the expansion of Spotify’s podcast monetization business across various markets around the world.

Our work is cutting edge, revolutionary and always evolving, so it will be up to you to continuously assess and advise the teams on legal issues using a creative and pragmatic approach.

You will primarily partner with and provide legal guidance to the podcast business at Spotify. You will advise colleagues on our monetization programs with podcast creators.  You will work on a range of agreements, including those with podcast publishers, hosting platforms, advertising technology partners, and third-party vendors. You will also provide product guidance on the podcast monetization platforms in order to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements as Spotify’s podcast business expands.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with our podcast and creator monetization teams to understand their priorities and help them achieve their objectives.
  • Support automated and programmatic monetization channel workstreams across Spotify’s podcast platforms.
  • Manage drafting, review, and negotiation of license agreements and monetization program terms across a range of commercial arrangements with external partners, and collaborate with key internal stakeholders to bring those agreements to execution.
  • Synthesize regulatory issues and legal implications that may impact Spotify’s evolving podcast monetization technology stack and provide compliance guidance to business partners and others within the legal team.
  • Provide effective and commercially focused product counseling in relation to new podcast monetization features, creator tools, and UX copy.
  • Work closely with other key stakeholders in the Finance, Product, and Engineering teams to provide holistic support to Spotify’s podcast monetization business.

Who You Are

  • You are admitted to practice law in California or qualified to act as Registered In-House Counsel in California. You have at least 5+ years of post-qualification experience working in a law firm and/or in-house legal department. Existing in-house experience is preferable but not essential.
  • You have experience working in the podcast, digital audio, or broader media ecosystem — as external counsel advising creators, publishers, and technology platforms; and/or in the legal department of a large, scaled business with a focus on podcasters, media creators, or media monetization matters.
  • You have a solid understanding of the podcast landscape, including how podcast advertising, host-read sponsorships, programmatic audio, and creator monetization programs operate, as well as the license agreements and monetization structures that support them.
  • Strong working knowledge of and experience with product counseling, intellectual property, and legal issues relating to digital audio, podcast distribution, programmatic advertising, privacy, consumer protection, and media. Experience in a consumer-facing technology or media organization with a significant podcast or digital audio business is a plus.
  • You consistently deliver clear, concise, practical, and pragmatic advice, with a proven ability to make risk-based decisions and to develop innovative and business-focused solutions to commercial challenges and regulatory developments.
  • You are comfortable balancing a varied body of work, moving at pace, and operating in areas where there is no perfect answer and ambiguity is high. You have a demonstrated willingness to dig into the details of projects and work well as part of a team — both with other lawyers and with non-legal stakeholders.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills with an absolute commitment to professionalism and collegiality.
  • Fluency in English is essential; other languages are a plus.

Where You’ll Be

  • This role is based in Los Angeles, CA.
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come in 2-3 times per week.

The United States base range for this position is $170,366 - $243,380 plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
